I tried glyph of concentration... They interupt the glyph too ! Mantra of resolve would cancel out mantra of earth, so its kinda hopeless trying.

Did I aggro enough? I dont last long enough to get anymore lol. I only did it to test if it would crash or not. The interupts pwned me yea.
You didnt aggro enough, and you didnt have both visages up.. so thats not really a good comparison.

Also, I'm not using textmod, so that cant be the problem either.

I've had no problem farming the cave with VwK, although I usually aggro only 3/4 of them since the build isn't strong enough to kill the mother. But in the times where I did all the cave, no crash, just a death when the mother didn't go down lol

The problem here is that Sympathetic Visage triggers AoE to all adjacent foes, so you have O(n^2) triggers of the skill to handle. As n grows (more raptors), this number gets considerably larger, and most video cards won't be able to handle it unless you turn down many settings.

I say we get a group of about 20 people to sync in and try this at the same time...... that should get anet to find a solution to the problem real quick

Looks to me like it's caused by Guild Wars being incompatible with a dual core processor. Try setting Gw.exe's affinity to only one core. INSTRUCTIONS HERE

Or you can use this, looks like a good tool: http://www.tomshardware.com/2004/05/...uck/index.html

I tried it with my warrior. I got a Intel Core 2 duo and 3GB DDR2 memory and Geforce 8800gts. I tried it first with singel Visage and I didn't really have any slowdowns, but with dual Visage the frame rate dropped noticably, but no crash.

What about textures? I bet its that. You see, GW like any other engine renders text which is to be displayed to textures.

if cave has 32 raptors (iirc, they come in 4 groups of 8 each), its 1024 numbers to be displayed, even thou engine wont fail on that one as it renders multpile text fields into single textures, it could seriously mess with graphical bus, because it is likely to update some texture because of each an every new -3 displayed. Thats lots of overhead, its like rebuilding half of textures for scene 1000 times per second.

That could imply lock since game engine would be busy updating textures 24/7, and never release lock so that engine can use them to display scene, leading to one sided deadlock.

"Also, i cant see how this bug would lead to a NERF of the visages, that just doesnt make any sense.."

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Protective_Bond

"Before it was nerfed, this skill was the backbone to a 55 monk build for farming UW. According to Izzy, this skill was nerfed not primarily because it was overpowered in PvE, but because a bug could crop up in its use that would crash Anet servers."

Its happened before.

Hmm, but they only changed energy cost to prevent from further usage, which means that bug ought be still there, but its unlikely to happen because noone uses that skill anymore.

So it means that we could crash gw with massive prot bond usage. rawr.

Just tried it in Normal Mode and GW also froze. only 1 Visage was on. Not only GW but my comp froze too. Had to hard reboot.

my system:

AMD Athlon 3200+
1GB RAM
BFG Geforce 6600GT 128MB

BTW how did you manage your health bar full? I had all the -3 reduce dmg runes and insignia on my armor + -2stance shield but my health still drop very quickly

Try turning of post process effects. Thats a big cause of crashes.
